A 7 inch trivet in solid brass bar, bent and brazed into a flat ring with three cross members. Heavy, so it does not travel across the table when you drag a pan off it.
Unlacquered, which means it will go brown. A lacquered trivet stays bright for about six months and then the lacquer burns and flakes where the pan sits, which cannot be undone.

- Bar bent to a ring and brazed at one join, three cross members brazed beneath so the top face is a continuous plane. Small silicone feet let in underneath.
- How it ages
- Bright on arrival and browning from the first week, fastest where a hot pan touches it. It will end up a deep warm brown with bright spots where it gets handled. Polish it back any time with a brass polish.

Height is the floor or surface to the highest point. Width and length are the widest points across and along. Anything round states a diameter instead. Tolerance is a quarter inch on a machined dimension and half an inch on anything turned or thrown.
Care
- Wipe with a damp cloth. Dry it — brass water-spots.
- Polish only if you want it bright.
Cautions
- Gets hot. It is solid brass under a hot pan; use a cloth to move it.
- Not dishwasher safe — the detergent will stain it black.
- Not for cast iron straight off a flame above about 250C; the silicone feet will mark.
