Carved from a solid block rather than joined from four sides, so there is no corner to fail and nothing to catch a coin in.

- Hollowed from one piece, inside faces left with a shallow tool texture rather than sanded flat. Cork pads on the underside so it does not mark a polished surface.

- Darkens like the rest of the oak. The inside picks up fine scratches from keys within weeks, which is exactly what it is for.
