A thrown stoneware vase, 9 inches tall with a narrow 1.6 inch mouth — sized for a few stems rather than a bouquet, which is what most people actually have.
Matte ash glaze that breaks paler over the throwing rings, so the making is visible on the finished piece. Every one differs in where it breaks.

- Construction
- Thrown on the wheel and trimmed at leather hard, throwing rings left in. Glazed inside and out with the foot wiped clean, then once-fired to vitrification so the body is waterproof independent of the glaze.
- How it ages
- Stoneware does not age. The glaze may craze into a fine network over years, which is a glaze-to-body fit thing and is not a leak — the body underneath is vitrified. Expect the unglazed foot to pick up colour from whatever it stands on.

Height is the floor or surface to the highest point. Width and length are the widest points across and along. Anything round states a diameter instead. Tolerance is a quarter inch on a machined dimension and half an inch on anything turned or thrown.
Care
- Hand wash. It is dishwasher safe but the unglazed foot will absorb detergent.
- Empty it if it is going to sit unused — standing water leaves a line.
Cautions
- NOT frost proof. Do not leave it outdoors over winter; trapped water will split it.
- Not flameproof and not for an oven.
- Colour and glaze break vary piece to piece. Two will not match.
